Functionalized Porous Nanoreactors in Organic Reactions: Mesoporous solid support as a nanocatalyst
In the present book, we have generally explained mesoporous silica nanostructures- synthesis and functionalization of them, followed by illustration of some important catalytic applications in the field of organic synthesis (e.g. heterocylic formations, Diels-Alder, C-C coupling, and aldol reactions) in four sections according to performance of the functional groups have linked into the surface of the mesostructures. The first chapter discusses about the mesoporous materials including various kinds of structures, the way functionalization, advantages and disadvantages. Chapter 2 explains the developments in metal complexes which are anchored through their organic ligands. Chapter 3 discusses about modified organocatalysts (generally amine-based) onto surface of mesoporous materials. One part of this chapter follows modified asymmetric organocatalysts. Due to extensive application of modified sulphonic acids, we, herein, classified it in one chapter. It involves a series of reactions in aldol, multicomponent, and heterocycles. Some of multicomponent reactions are developed by our group.
Although there is no doubt that this book contains errors, we have tried to provide a perfect version as we could. The helps and encouragements of our friends and families had also a drastic role in the finishing this book. We hope this book would be an effective step in the development of applications of mesoporous silicas.
